Functional analysis of sectoral qualifications frameworks in line with the European Qualifications Framework structure

During the study ACK carried out a functional analysis according to industry trends of the construction, printing, energy, timber, transport and business sectors, and the design and creative industries sectors. The study resulted in a systematic compilation of research materials and results that determine the industry's required occupations. Results of the research further will be used for educational purposes.

Development of future scenarios for energy and shipping sectors and identification of critical issues of these sectors in the context of maritime spatial planning and transnational cooperation and development of informative material

Within the framework of the service, future scenarios for the shipping and energy sectors were developed, critical issues were defined for the BSR dialogue, proposals for integrating the results into the improved version of the Latvian MSP were worked out, and an informative material was prepared. As a result of active engagement and stakeholder involvement, the capacity of Latvian stakeholders as well as their readiness and openness to involve into transnational Maritime spatial planning discussions was increased, plus their ability to assess the international dimension of Maritime spatial planning was improved.

Feasibility study for Riga tram infrastructure development project

Project implemented: 2016

The overall objective of the project was to promote the sustainable use of public transport in Riga, incorporating the less connected urban areas in the Riga public transport network. The project is located in the Latvian capital, Riga, with an area of 307 km2 and a population of 638 784 inhabitants. Riga is not only the largest city in Latvia but also in the Baltic States. A risk analysis was carried out, which included a sensitivity and risk analysis. The purpose of sensitivity analysis is to identify 'critical' variables, i.e. factors that change positively or negatively, have the greatest impact on project performance indicators, as well as financial analysis and cost-benefit analysis.

During the research AC Konsultācijas defined long term and short term future development priorities and determined the necessary amount of investment. There was also carried a potential-project-user survey.

Baldone County Social - Economic Development Analysis

Within the framework of the research, the most important indicators affecting the socio-economic development of the Baldone region were identified and analyzed the socio-economic development of Baldone and similar regions. Socio-economic development was assessed by analyzing the factors influencing the development, regression and real estate market situation. Within the framework of the project, a survey of residents of the region was carried out at the respondents' residences.

Study "On the motivation of employers to engage in the implementation of work-based learning"

During this study AC Konsultācijas prepared description of vocational education, summarized the main trends of education development, studied 7 foreign practices regarding work environment based training, evaluated EU funds, assessed fiscal impact and carried out a survey of small enterprises.

Developing passenger and cargo flow forecasts in the framework of the National Rail Baltica Research

Within the framework of the research AC Konsultācijas developed forecasts using the scenario method and involving an expert panel. Using these methods the company modelled cargo and passenger flow, developed traffic forecasts, conducted market evaluation and analyzed sectoral development trends and the latest developments in the transport and logistics sectors.

Development of a technical socio-economic justification for the construction of a new educational institution in Ādaži district

AC Konsultācijas developed an action plan for the construction of a new educational institution building and for renovation of existing one in Ādaži. Within the framework of the plan the current situation and demand for educational services were studied, as well as cost-effectiveness analysis for the renovation of the existing Ādaži secondary school was developed.

Recommendations on taking over best foreign practices in the craft sector in Latvia

In this research AC Konsultācijas carried out analysis of the existing situation in the craft sector in Latvia and studied best practices of foreign partners in the project: innovative solutions for design and its implementation, prospects for craft education, marketing and export opportunities for craft products, and crafts relation to creative industries.

Development of Nīca county sustainable development strategy 2014 -2030 and Nīca county development programme 2014 -2020, development of strategic environmental impact assessment

Within the framework of the service AC Konsultācijas developed:
  • Sustainable development strategy that includes long term development vision, strategic goals and economic specialization for period 2014 - 2030;
  • Medium term development program;
  • Strategic environmental impact assessment.
Within the framework of the service, five reorganization plans for children's long-term social care institutions in the Kurzeme planning region were carried out. The purpose of the reorganization was to find solutions to improve the situation of orphans and children left without parental care who currently live and receive services in institutions, transforming long-term social care in society-based social services in accordance with international guidelines for alternative care for children.
